Successful year of RIAL Cooperation Activities

During the last week of September, two bilateral cooperation activities of the RIAL took place. A delegation from Grenada traveled to Jamaica to learn from their experience with the Labor Market Information System, and officials from Peru traveled to Mexico to exchange experiences on the Labor Observatory. Finally, a delegation from Jamaica travelled to Washington D.C from October 17th to the 21st to participate in the last cooperation activity of this year. The exchange was with the U.S Department of Labor regarding disability legislation and enforcement.

Tripartite delegation from Honduras participates in bilateral cooperation with Costa Rica

In the framework of the RIAL bilateral cooperations, a delegation from Honduras traveled to Costa Rica from September 6 to 8th to learn from Costa Rica's experience with enforcing the minimum wage. The goal of the activity is to implement a new strategy to improve levels of enforcement of minimum wage payment in Honduras. The delegation from Honduras includes three officials from the Secretariat of Labor, and representatives of workers and employers.



Youth Employment was the focus of the first RIAL Bilateral Cooperation of 2016

A delegation from Colombia’s Ministry of Labor, led by Vice-Minister Francisco Mejia, were in Santo Domingo from July 13 – 15 to exchange experiences and strengthen their actions to encourage youth employment. This cooperation, offered by the Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Labor was the first of the activities selected for the RIAL’s 9th Call for Proposals in 2016.

Celebrating 10 years of the RIAL!

The Inter-American Network for Labor Administration (RIAL) is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a publication that highlights its greatest achievements, among them, 90 bilateral cooperation activities, 20 hemispheric workshops and more than 1,000 public servants trained.
